As a Digital Product Manager for our hotel group and its multiple restaurant and bars websites, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the online presence and e-commerce capabilities of our hotels, ensuring the continuous improvement and smooth day-to-day technical operations of our online platforms. You will serve as the primary liaison between web developers and various teams, including the hotel's revenue and marketing teams. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining and developing website functionality, optimising user experience, and driving enhancements to meet business objectives. You will actively participate in larger projects, in particular the upcoming website redevelopment and CRM replacement.

Within this role you will:

  • Manage and prioritise the backlog of change requests & bug fixes with our technical agency.
  • Define development requirements, resources and prepare budgets.
  • Manage key stakeholder expectations during the web development cycle and ensure satisfaction with delivery.
  • Develop support documentation including requirement specifications.
  • Run user testing of the website.
  • Participate in key digital and/or web projects.
  • Develop website templates (using both CMS and HTML).
  • Identify opportunities to refine User Experience (UX) and design and implement solutions.
  • Work to optimise and develop e-commerce functionality and online trading through the website including recommendations, upselling functionality, etc.
  • Deliver smaller scale technical developments and templates, and liaise with our technical agency to deliver the larger technical developments.
  • Diagnose issues and manage maintenance of existing online platforms e.g. Online Check-In, Online Gift Shop, App, Online Payments
  • Work collaboratively with other business teams and stakeholders to identify new web ideas and define requirements.
  • Work closely with colleagues creating and updating content for the site to ensure the holistic experience positions and reflects the brand.
  • Assist the teams to secure the appropriate budgets and resources required to deliver web development initiatives successfully.
  • Help establish and use best practices in project management and high-quality web delivery.
  • Highlight potential risks and work proactively to resolve issues.
  • Take an active role in the small and busy digital team, supporting colleagues to achieve overall digital, e-commerce and team goals.

Key experience

  • Proven record as a Digital Product Manager with examples of work, gained ideally in a relevant field - hotels, hospitality, luxury, e-commerce, travel, design, media or culture.
  • Qualification in Computer Science, Digital Marketing or relevant field is preferable.
  • Experience with Open-Source CMS's (e.g. WordPress, eZPublish, Shopify).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage digital projects under challenging and pressurised scenarios.
  • Hands-on and creative Digital Product Manager who can implement, drive and challenge new ideas and initiatives.
  • Clear sense of ownership and accountability with a strong client/customer-oriented approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as high-level interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Highly organised and motivated with an aptitude for troubleshooting.
  • Understanding and experience of Agile, PM certification is a plus.
